All vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, and all the equipment carried is maintained according to the relevant Health & Safety / COSHH regulations, as well as to the requirements of Fire Service Technical Bulletin 1/94 "Periodic Inspection and Testing of Fire Service Equipment". The vehicles are all available for hire for any period from a couple of hours to 3 months, and can be supplied with a complete crew of firefighters or just a firefighter driver / operator. All vehicles (except Argocat) are fitted with radio communication systems and Dolphin digital phones.

Dennis "Sabre" Water Tender Ladder

This is one of the latest fire-fighting vehicles available. It carries 1700ltrs of water and 100ltrs of AFFF (Aqueous Film Forming Foam). It is fitted with a 4500 LPM multi-pressure pump, high pressure hose reel system and an electronic foam proportioning system. It carries a full range of fire-fighting and rescue equipment, including 4 Dreager PA94 breathing apparatus sets with lightweight cylinders, and a full Clan Lukus hydraulic cutting and spreading rescue set. The vehicle is also fitted with the very latest beam gantry system to allow easy and safe removal of the range of ladders carried, reducing manual handling, and removing the need for personnel to go on the roof of the vehicle. A heavy duty winch is fitted to the front of the appliance. A crew of up to 6 firefighters including driver may be carried.

Dennis "SS" Water Tender

The Water Tender is the traditional workhorse of the fire service. This vehicle carries 1800ltrs of water, and is fitted with a 2225 LPM multi-pressure pump and high pressure hose reel system. It carries a full range of firefighting and rescue equipment, including 4 Dreager PA94 breathing apparatus sets with lightweight cylinders, hydraulic rescue set, foam making equipment and a full range of ladders. A crew of up to 6 firefighters including driver may be carried.

GMC Light Water Tender

This is a compact 4 wheel drive fire fighting vehicle capable of carrying a crew of 4 firefighters including driver. It carries 1000ltrs of water and 50ltrs of AFFF, and is fitted with a 2225 LPM multi-pressure pump, high pressure hose reel system, and built in foam proportioning system. Also carried is a range of fire fighting and rescue equipment including 2 Dreager PA94 breathing apparatus sets with lightweight cylinders, hydraulic rescue equipment and a triple extension ladder. The vehicle is fitted with a front mounted heavy duty winch. This vehicle is ideal in conditions of awkward terrain or low headroom.

Pinzguar 6x6 Hosereel Tender

This unusual 6-wheel drive fire-fighting vehicle has an all terrain capability and is ideal for areas of difficult access. In spite of being very compact, it has a powerful fire-fighting capability and is as at home in built up areas and congested campsites as it is on hills and mountains.

It can carry a crew of 4 fire-fighters, and carries 600 litres of water and an onboard pump with a 60-metre hosereel for an immediate attack. The water capability can be further supplemented by connecting to a fire hydrant of lifting from open water thus allowing larger fire fighting jets to be further employed if required.

In addition it carries 2 breathing apparatus sets, a full range of first aid, resuscitation and burns equipment, a 7 metre triple extension ladder, extinguishers, foam making equipment, lighting equipment with a full range of hand tools such as bolt croppers, axes, spades etc.

Argocat All Terrain Vehicle

This ingenious little 8 wheel drive vehicle is ideal for areas of very difficult access, and is also amphibious. It can carry a crew of up to 3 firefighters and carries 450 ltrs of water and is fitted with a 60m hose reel, and a pump that can lift water from its own tank or an external source. A high pressure fogging system is fitted for use in fire fighting situations where water supplies are limited, and this system has the ability to use fire suppressing water additives, greatly enhancing the fire fighting ability of the water carried. It also carries fire extinguishers, first aid and foam making equipment, and is capable of towing small trailers.

Land Rover Operational Support Unit

This vehicle is a multi role support unit. It can be used for towing, and can carry equipment pods for rescue, command and control, salvage and helicopter support. It is fitted with a front mounted winch, and can carry a crew of up to 3 firefighters.

Water Bowser (4 Wheel Drive)

This extremely versatile fire-fighting vehicle is based on a Bedford 4 x 4 military chassis. It carries 5000 litres of water and has a demountable pump, which can be used on or off the vehicle. In addition, it has a fixed 60m hose reel allowing the vehicle to be used for quick attack purposes, and a rear mounted monitor (or ?water gun?) for projecting large volumes of water at a fire.

The primary role of the vehicle is to get large quantities of fire fighting water to difficult locations, either to supply other fire-fighting vehicles with water, or just to act as a static emergency water supply, say at an event site or film shoot. A large collapsible dam of 11,000 ltr capacity is carried, which can quickly be set up at the scene of any incident or site, into which the contents of the tanker can be emptied, before leaving to refill, thus leaving a temporary water supply which can be continually topped up. The vehicle can be filled from any hydrant or other water supply, or open water using the onboard pump.

Another unique feature is the fitment of sparge pipes around the vehicle, which discharge water around and underneath the vehicle as it is driven around, allowing large field or heath fires to be extinguished with ease, or to make a ?wet fire break? at any such fire. In another role, large areas can be wet down for film special effects, or just dust suppression, using the same apparatus.
